Just three days ago, the woman behind the Reddit profile Cola-Joy decided to share her first nude photos. By her own admission, she was extremely nervous, unsure how people would react or what kind of comments would be waiting for her on the other side of the screen.

The response was much better than she expected. The acceptance, positive messages, and compliments she received made her feel more confident and encouraged her to share a few more photo sets. What began as an experiment filled with uncertainty has quickly turned into a very positive experience.

When a woman anonymously shares intimate photos with complete strangers, the thrill is obviously part of the experience, but it isn't always the main reason. Often, there is also a need for self-esteem, recognition, and validation: discovering that something she views with insecurity can be attractive to hundreds of other people.





Nudity exposes the body, but it also exposes all the insecurities that have built up around it. Posting a photo can become a way of confronting those insecurities from a space that feels easier to control thanks to anonymity. She decides what to show, how to show it, and how far she wants to go, without having to reveal who she is in her everyday life.

There is also something particular about the gaze of a stranger: it isn't influenced by a previous relationship, affection, or any obligation to make her feel good. That's why, when the reaction is positive, those compliments can feel like much more genuine confirmation that her body is attractive and inspires desire.

External validation alone won't solve self-esteem issues, but it can provide the push someone needs to stop seeing herself only through her perceived flaws. In some cases, sharing nude photos becomes a way of reclaiming control over her own image, feeling desired, and discovering a confidence that had remained hidden until then.

Everyone has their own reasons and limits, but in Cola-Joy's case, the experience seems to have been particularly good for her. She joined Reddit terrified by the thought of people seeing her naked, and three days later, she was already back with new photos. And we certainly aren't going to be the ones to discourage her.

THE SHOE FETISH

For most of us, a shoe is simply something that stops us from getting home with our feet completely destroyed. For other people, however, it can become a powerful object of desire. Not necessarily because they want to have sex with a stiletto heel —although the internet is always ready to prove that absolutely anything is possible— but because the brain has an extraordinary ability to load objects that are not inherently sexual with erotic meaning.

A shoe is not entirely separate from the body. It covers it, retains its shape, changes its posture and alters the way a person walks. High heels visually lengthen the legs, lift the buttocks, encourage the hips to sway and can turn an ordinary entrance into a full-blown statement of intent. Desire may begin at the foot, but it rarely ends there.





There is also the appeal of what remains hidden. A shoe encloses a part of the body that stays out of sight for most of the day. And eroticism has always got along particularly well with anything that is suggested, concealed or never completely revealed. Sometimes, slowly removing a shoe can create more tension than taking off a much more intimate garment, because arousal does not depend solely on how much is shown, but on everything our imagination builds around it.

Psychoanalysis has interpreted the shoe as a sexual symbol associated with penetration, femininity, domination or even as a symbolic substitute for a part of the body.

Modern psychology tends to view the matter in slightly less dramatic terms. Desire can also be learned through association: an intense sexual experience, someone we found attractive, a smell, a texture or a particular image can become connected in our memory. If a pair of shoes was present during especially exciting moments, the brain may eventually turn them into a direct shortcut to arousal.

Shoes also say a great deal about the person wearing them. They can convey elegance, power, rebellion, vulnerability, authority or availability. We do not desire only the object, but also the attitude, the body and the fantasy it represents. The heel stops being a simple piece of leather and plastic and becomes the promise of a particular woman, a particular situation or a particular role within the sexual game.

As long as the fetish is enjoyed between consenting adults and causes no suffering, there is nothing to cure and very little to worry about. We have all learned to become aroused by following some rather peculiar paths. Some people need a certain look; others, a voice or a particular item of clothing; and some, apparently, need a high-heeled shoe with exactly the right toe and enough reasons not to ask what happened to the other one.

Every era interprets it in its own way, and every artist finds something different to express through it.

Artist Valeriia Kozhukhova continues that tradition through paintings, watercolors, and digital artwork featuring nude women or women portrayed in intimate and sensual poses.

In her work, eroticism does not depend on showing everything. Sometimes a pose, a glance, a shadow, or a handful of strokes is enough to awaken something in the viewer. The body becomes a model, a landscape, and a language all at once.

The tools, styles, and places where we view art have changed, but the fascination remains untouched.

We have spent thousands of years trying to turn the female body into art, and we still have not finished looking at it.
