RUN OVER BY HER OWN CAR

You’d think the odds of getting run over by your own car—with no one behind the wheel—are so absurd they’re not even worth mentioning. But forget to put your automatic in park, and suddenly your vehicle decides it doesn’t need you anymore. And the worst part? It’s not even a dramatic Fast & Furious exit. It’s slow, awkward, and deeply humiliating.

TOMORROWLAND ON FIRE

Tomorrowland isn’t just a festival —it’s the festival. Since its first edition in 2005, this Belgian event has become the biggest temple of electronic music on the planet. Every year, over 400,000 people from all corners of the world gather in Boom (yep, fitting name) to experience three days of music, lights, magic, madness, and stages that look straight out of a sci-fi film.
It’s like a theme park built around rhythm. A Disneyland for adults, but with beats. And its main stage —always monumental, always epic— is the heart of it all.
But this year, just two days before kickoff, that heart collapsed. Literally.

On Wednesday, July 16th, during technical checks ahead of the opening, the main stage caught fire. Within minutes, flames spread across the entire structure, sending up a thick cloud of smoke visible for miles. Luckily, the festival hadn’t started yet and only technical staff were on-site, so no one was hurt. But the stage was completely destroyed.

Authorities suspect the fire started during a pyrotechnic test gone wrong. While the investigation is still ongoing, it’s been confirmed that the festival is not cancelled: DreamVille —the camping area— will open on July 17th, and events in Brussels and Antwerp will go ahead as planned. Still, the team now has to improvise fast to reinvent the show’s epicenter without its main stage.

Meanwhile, social media is already full of videos of the fire. And as many fireworks as Tomorrowland has seen over the years… nothing quite like this.
