THE SHOE FETISH

For most of us, a shoe is simply something that stops us from getting home with our feet completely destroyed. For other people, however, it can become a powerful object of desire. WHITEPLACE_1. PART THREE

After spending two installments exploring the universe of Whiteplace_1 (白寺), we bring this series to a close with one final selection of photographs by the elusive Chinese artist.

His work demonstrates that eroticism doesn’t always need an explanation. Sometimes it is far more effective to suggest a story, conceal part of the model’s identity and allow a pose, a rope or a glance to construct everything else.

Whiteplace_1 uses fetishism as an artistic language rather than merely as a sexual attraction. His images are conceived as compositions in which the human body coexists with fantasy, performance and a certain sense of mystery.
