SIMON BOLZ 2026. PART ONE

The last time we dedicated a post to Simon Bolz was back in 2022. Since then, the German photographer has continued working, releasing new shoots and expanding a body of work that, by now, has a perfectly recognizable style.

For his return to ALRNCN, we've selected some of the photographs he has published since 2023. Images in which he once again combines nudity, female beauty, and meticulous art direction, paying just as much attention to the model as he does to the lighting, framing, and setting around her.

Because in Bolz's work, nudity never appears in isolation. Every location, every shadow, and every element of the composition helps create an atmosphere that turns each photograph into something more than just an attractive body in front of a camera.

FROSYA, THE GIRL WHO DOESN'T EXIST

At first glance, Frosya looks like just another content creator. An extraordinarily attractive young woman who shares videos of herself talking to the camera, little moments from her life, trips, everyday activities and, of course, a generous dose of sensuality.





In her bio, she describes herself as a model, singer, dancer, creative and photographer. She also offers access to more explicit content through her paid profiles. So far, nothing that thousands of other girls on Instagram aren't already doing. The difference is that Frosya doesn't exist: she is an identity created using artificial intelligence.

Her face, body, gestures and seemingly ordinary life have all been generated to build an attractive, approachable and sufficiently believable character. The goal is the same as that of many similar accounts created recently: turn her beauty into viral content, attract followers and direct as many users as possible toward her paywalled profiles.

However, nowhere on the profile does it say that the girl isn't real or that her photos and videos were created using AI. Frosya presents herself as a flesh-and-blood person, complete with hobbies, a personality, daily activities and a life that supposedly continues when the camera stops recording.

Leaving aside whether this is a legitimate commercial fantasy or a deliberate attempt to mislead users—a debate we've already covered on other occasions and one that calls for a certain degree of caution—what really caught my attention is the incredible level of quality this kind of content has achieved.

I knew from the very first video that it had been generated using AI. However, I've been working with this kind of imagery and video on a daily basis for years. I know where to look, I recognize certain movements and I can still pick up on those little warning signs that tell me something isn't quite right. But those alarms are getting quieter.





At this point, I'm fairly certain that if I haven't already mistaken some AI-generated content for the real thing, I will sooner rather than later. And it won't necessarily be because I wasn't paying attention, but because telling the real from the artificial is starting to require more time than we normally spend looking at any single post.

Perhaps the real shift won't happen when we can no longer distinguish a real person from an invented one, but when we simply stop caring. Frosya may not have a childhood, a passport or any memories, but she posts regularly, changes outfits, visits places and builds a biography in front of thousands of followers. With enough continuity, an artificial identity can eventually feel more familiar to us than many of the real people we follow.

And that raises a new question: how long does a fiction need before it becomes a character? If we spend years watching Frosya grow, change her style, fall in love, travel or even grow older, there will come a point when we're no longer following a simple collection of images, but an invented life shared and remembered by real people.

What's more, these girls aren't designed simply to be beautiful. They can be modified according to the audience's reaction: a different hairstyle if it generates more clicks, a new personality if it attracts more comments or a slightly different body if it increases subscriptions. We would no longer be looking at a model trying to appeal to her audience, but at a person gradually manufactured from the desires of those watching her.

Today, we know that Frosya doesn't exist. The unsettling thought is that, before long, this may become the least important part of the entire story.

AMATEUR FLESH: ITALLHAPPENSATONCE

Our amateur recommendation today takes us by the hand back to the early days of the Internet. Back to a time when photos took forever to load, digital cameras were only just starting to make an appearance, and nobody zoomed in on an image to check whether it was perfectly in focus.

Back then, quality was the least of our concerns. Mainly because we had no idea how far all of this would eventually go. We didn't know how many megapixels were coming, there was no 4K, no HDR, and we certainly never imagined that one day we'd be able to see every last pore on someone's skin from a screen we carry around in our pocket.

So we were perfectly happy with much less. A photo could be slightly blurry, badly lit, or look like it had been taken with a camera found inside a cereal box. What mattered was the intention. And if the intention was good, our imagination was more than capable of filling in the missing megapixels.





And there's definitely something about today's protagonist that brings back a little of that spirit. Her material has that genuine amateur charm, far removed from perfectly lit productions, carefully planned shots, and videos that look like they were filmed by a twenty-person crew. Here it's basically a phone, a camera, a desire to show off, and not much else. Just like the old days.

Although there's something else she seems to enjoy almost as much as getting in front of the camera: reading the reactions she gets from the other side of the screen.

Some of her posts make it pretty clear that she enjoys going through the comments and, when you think about it, that's hardly surprising. We all like hearing nice things about ourselves. And depending on what you've just posted, maybe things that aren't quite so nice but are considerably more interesting.

Because uploading a photo is one thing. Finding out what went through someone's head when they saw it is another. What they liked, where their eyes lingered the longest and, above all, what they'd be willing to do if, instead of looking at her through a screen, she was standing right in front of them.

I guess that's part of the game too. She shows, you watch, some of you leave comments, and then she comes back to see just how far everyone's imagination has wandered.

And judging by the photos and videos coming up next, I have a feeling she's going to have plenty of reading to catch up on today.

ALL IN ON RED VOL7

Over the last few days, we've been making our way through a good chunk of the color chart. We've had pink, fuchsia, magenta, green, blue, lilac... and at this point, there was one we simply couldn't leave out: Red.

And thankfully, red is going to give us far fewer problems than lilac did. There's not much to argue about here. Red is red.

Yes, I know someone will now show up ready to explain that there's crimson, scarlet, vermilion, burgundy, cherry red, ruby and another thirty shades that I'm sure have extremely important differences for designers, painters and people capable of telling them apart without having to place two pieces of clothing side by side.
But we're not going to make life complicated. If you look at it and your brain says "red," then for the purposes of this post, it's red.

Besides, few colors need less explanation. Red has been doing its job perfectly well for centuries: it grabs your attention, stands out and makes you look. It's on warning signs, sports cars, lips, dresses designed to make someone turn their head as they walk past and, of course, lingerie that nobody ever buys with the intention of going unnoticed.

So after spending all these days jumping from one color to another, it was time to maintain at least some editorial consistency and make sure red didn't get left out.
