Guenter Knop began his career in the late 1970s working in the world of fashion and advertising photography in Germany. In the early 1980s he moved to New York, where he worked as first assistant to Henry Wolf, the renowned art director behind Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar and Show.

His work is defined by dramatic lighting and carefully crafted sets, heavily influenced by the Bauhaus, Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. One of the most distinctive aspects of his photography is his use of non-professional models, people from different backgrounds he met in New York who brought a sense of authenticity, naturalness and a much fresher perspective to nude art.

And cooking has a lot in common with many other things in life. At first, everything feels like chaos. Words you don't understand, timings you don't control, ingredients you don't know, and that constant feeling that you're improvising while praying you don't screw it up.

But interest does something funny: it turns obligation into curiosity. You stop cooking just because you have to. You start wondering why meat comes out more tender, why something changes flavor, why some people do things one way and others do the opposite.
And that's where real learning begins. Because learning usually isn't about memorizing steps. It's about starting to ask questions.

In the end, cooking is basically a string of small tests and small mistakes. A recipe that goes wrong. Something that burns. A badly measured amount. And again. And again. But almost everyone who cooks well today went through a stage where they did absolute crimes in the kitchen.

But there'll be generations growing up with experiences built around them with a level of precision that's almost impossible to compete with.

Because human relationships come with unavoidable things: surprises, differences, awkward moments, frustration, rejection, and real people having good days and bad days. The other person exists outside your head.

But an artificial intelligence designed to please you could learn the exact opposite: never argue, never fail, never get tired, never disappoint you, and never ask for anything in return.

And that creates a pretty strange question: if a generation grows up getting used to experiences custom-built for them with surgical precision... what happens when they run into real people?
Because maybe the biggest change in the future won't be technological. Maybe the real shift will be that, for the first time, we'll have an emotional and sexual alternative designed to directly compete with reality itself.

And that opens up an even stranger possibility: a lot of people may walk in out of curiosity... and some may simply decide to stay there. Because once something starts understanding you better than you understand yourself, it stops feeling like a tool.
And maybe, for the first time in history, a fantasy stops being a fantasy... and starts adapting itself to you better than the real world ever could.
